For a period of about one year (October 1992 to November 1993), along with several other energetic
and dedicated soldiers, I helped raise money and lobby Congress. We also participated in a multitude
of radio, television, and newsprint interviews that year. Some news shows even labeled us gay activists.
Well, I submit that people still disagree bitterly about what it means to be . . . an "activist."
